Sensor for alternating currents AMOSM – current sensor

The active flexible sensor for alternating currents AMOSM has been designed for the measurement of alternating currents in LV distribution networks. It features a compact sensing loop and increased resistance to dripping or running water. Although AMOSM sensors are manufactured for a single measuring range, this range has been extended to improve their applicability. The sensor converts alternating current into an AC voltage signal.

Thanks to active signal processing within the built-in amplifier and the specific design of the sensing loop, the AMOSM sensor can measure currents across a wide frequency range while minimizing the phase shift between the measured current and the output voltage. AMOSM sensors have been designed primarily for the measurement of alternating currents by Power Quality meters, specifically the MEg3x series. However, they can also be modified for use with other measurement instruments, depending on the application.

The accuracy of current measurement using flexible AMOSM sensors depends on the location of the loop closure in relation to the conductor carrying the current. For proper calibration, the closure of the loop should be placed as far as possible from this conductor. It is also beneficial to position the loop away from nearby conductors to minimize the influence of their currents on the sensor’s output voltage. During operation, both parts of the loop closure must be fully plugged in to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.

AMOS/1A single-phase flexible sensor with a current output

The AMOS/1A single-phase flexible sensor is designed to convert alternating current of mains frequency for measuring instruments with a standard 1 A current input. It consists of two structural parts, a flexible part sensing the alternating current based on the Rogowski coil principle and a converter unit with the integrator and converter functions. The flexible sensing part is characterized by a small diameter, resistance against water and the effects of external alternating magnetic fields and good flexibility. It is produced in three lengths of the sensing part, AMOS M standard – 40 cm, AMOS M long – 60 cm and AMOS M short – 20 cm.The converter unit has high efficiency even with the output power of 2.5 VA, a wide range of DC supply voltage and a compact design.

SMART split core current transformer PTD

The SMART split core current transformer PTD is installed in low voltage networks onto live and insulated wires. In its operating state, the transformer is characterized by insulation that complies with surface and air distances of the measurement category CAT IV. The transformer PTD can be easily installed into already operated low voltage switchgear assemblies and live busbars without necessity of their mechanical adjustments. It is suitable as an alternating current sensor for modern low power measuring systems.

Measuring transformer MEgMT from 100A to 500A
Measuring transformer MEgMT from 100A to 500A

A measuring transformer with nominal Iprim = up to 500 A. MEgMT has been designed for the measurement of currents by universal panel-mounted monitors MEg40 and by PQ monitors. It may be also used for other measuring instruments and systems with a low consumption.
